If you are an old hardcore flight simulator enthusiast like I am, you probably heard about Il-2 Sturmovik and it's sequel Il-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles. Released back in 2001 and 2003, they were developed by Maddox Games, and they were absolutely fantastic.

They also were the first of their genre to have a netcode good enough to fight online battles that were actually fun and not a constant struggle against lag. Ah, the memories...

If you miss them, or if you want to try a really solid (and really hardcore) combat fight simulator, you're going to get another chance with IL-2 Sturmovik – The Ultimate Edition, that includes IL-2 Sturmovik, IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten BattlesIL – 2 Sturmovik: 1946, the Ace Expansion Pack and Pacific Fighters all in one big package.

There's enough content there to keep you busy for six months at the very least and it's going to be released on May the 24th by Excalibur Publishing for a meager £9.99. You can find it here.

While the package is being released only in the UK (at least to my knowledge), if you're in the US and want to get your hands on the cloche, you can get the same offer as a download on GoG.com.
