While some critics seem to think that inFAMOUS: Second Son isn’t innovative enough to be a truly great game, gamers in quite a few areas of the world don’t seem to care all that much, and are buying the newly released PS4 exclusive en masse.
Sucker Punch’s latest labor of love, to which our very own Tony gave a 9.5 out of 10, jumped to the top of the charts of Amazon in the US, in the UK and in France on its launch day, as you can see from the screencaps below.
If the triplet wasn’t enough, the game is currently in second place in Germany (where Diablo III‘s upcoming expansion is at the top), in Italy it occupies both second and third place with the standard and special editions, and in Spain it’s second as well behind Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Only Canada seems to be a little cooler, with inFAMOUS: Second Son in 4th place.
That’s definitely a good sign for the game, and an indication that PS4 players have been waiting for a truly next-gen experience for quite a while, and now that one is on the shelves, they’re eating it up like the sweetest candy.
One thing is for sure, it’ll be interesting to hear more precise sales data for inFAMOUS: Second Son directly from Sony, and from what we can see, they may come out boasting about them sooner rather than later.
