Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia just announced with a press release that inFAMOUS: Second Son will hit the Japanese shelves on May 22nd, almost exactly two months after Europe and North America.

The packaged version will be priced at 6,900 yen without taxes, while the downloadable PSN version will cost 1,000 yen less.

Considering the rather low sales shown by PS4 software on the console's launch week, it's obvious that Sony's new console needs strong titles in its home turf. Given its focus on story and amazing graphics, inFAMOUS: Second Son seems to be the perfect candidate for the task together with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

Will it succeed in conquering the hearts of the Japanese gamers? We'll know on May the 28th, with the release of that week's Media Create charts.

Together with the press release SCEJA also sent eight screenshots, which we already saw, but considering how good they look, we can't say no to a refresher.
