inFAMOUS: Second Son marks the first time for Sucker Punch Production to work on a launch window game, and co-founder Chris Zimmerman explained how it felt to work on the PS4 for the first time during a livestream on IGN.

We were excited about it, we've never done a launch game, or a launch window game, so it was exciting and scary at the same time. We were really excited about getting to do this with the new hardware, but as you say, the hardware wasn't really defined, and the software wasn't really defined.

You know we were running into problems so the first time we're kind of blazing trails for the people that are gonna follow behind us.

He continued by explaining that it's fun to be part of "team Sony" because of the collaborations with studios within and outside Sony, as they want not only the first party games but all the PlayStation 4 games to be "as awesome as possible"

We just did it last week... we called Guerrilla to see "ok, what did you guys do here?"

Zimmerman also gave a few details on how the studio used the new console too, explaining that all ambient sound is actually positioned in the world thanks to the PS4, while before a lot of the a lot of the ambient sound effects  were just played in a loop everywhere.

The features of the DualShock 4 are also extensively used, so when you absorb a power the sound starts on the TV but then transitions to the speaker of the controller, making it seem that the element is being sucked into the controller itself.

At the end of the livestream Zimmerman was asked if a direct sequel is possible, and his answer definitely indicated that the possibility exists:

It's all open. It's hard when you're in the moment of building a game, to know what you wana do next as a studio. We need some distance. We need to get it out there, see how people react to it, see whether people like this stuff and then we'll be able to make a better decision.

Right now we're right in the middle of it, we're just now finishing up. We're too wrapped up in it to make a good decision, so that's all still open.

Personally, if inFAMOUS: Second Son is as good as it looks, I definitely wouldn't say no to a sequel, or even a trilogy. The final verdict, of course, will come on March 21st, when the game will be released in North America and Europe exclusively for the PS4.
