Infinity Blade Dungeons Announced Alongside New iPad

on March 7, 2012 5:15 PM

Apple’s new iPad was announced today. So of course Epic was on-hand to say “hey, guys, we’ve got a new Infinity Blade for you to play, too!” It’s a cycle as old as time the iPad 2. The newest installment in the Unreal-powered franchise is subtitled Dungeons and is a prequel of sorts to the two games in the series thus far. This Infinity Blade will take you thousands of years into the past and will recount the story of the Master of the Forge’s apprentice as he sets out to forge the titular weapon itself.

As the title and the trailer embedded after the jump suggest, Infinity Blade Dungeons is a dungeon crawler of sorts, where you encounter hordes of enemies in addition to the classic touch-and-slash gameplay you’ve come to know since 2010.

The information we’ve received from Epic suggests the game was built with the new iPad specs in mind, so expect something you’ve never experienced before from the franchise.
