More Information on Homeworld and Homeworld 2 HD Remakes by Gearbox Surfaces

on September 16, 2013 8:43 AM

At the Gearbox Community Day some more information was shared about the HD remakes of the classic Homeworld and of its sequel, Homeworld 2.

The two games will be sold separately in two packages, each containing the original and its HD version, for $15 each.

Since the auction for the Homeworld  IP did not include any kind of source file, they had to be retrieved from various sources. Many assets had to be reworked or remade in some capacity, like the music (by the original composer Paul Ruskay), while sound files were provided by Studio-X Labs. Cinematics are being recreated from scratch.

No release date has been provided yet. Looks like we’ll have to wait longer for that.
