Less than a week ago, it was revealed that Black Manta (as well as Raiden and Hellboy) would be making its way to Injustice 2 in the second-available Fighter Pack. Earlier today, developer NeatherRealm Studios finally illuminated what Black Manta will look like in the superhero fighting game thanks to a brand new trailer.

With the spotlight obviously on Black Manta, we can see the helmeted, bug-like Aquaman nemesis in all of his glory. As you can imagine, Black Manta's signature laser eyes are a paramount feature to his combat, as well as a jetpack that offers increased verticality. Also available for the viewing is the villain's Super Move -- which I won't ruin here.

This appearance will be the first time Black Manta is available as a playable character in the Injustice series. The character is mentioned by name in the first game, and shows up in a stage transition within Atlantis in Injustice 2. It will be interesting to see how that transition may be altered with the super-villain being a playable character now.

Injustice 2 released on May 16, 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One. DualShockers' Tomas Franzese reviewed the game, awarding it a 9.0 out of 10 noting "Injustice 2 improves upon Injustice: God Among Us in almost every way. It’s faster, smoother, better animated, and better written than its predecessor, and is definitely NeatherRealm’s best fighting game yet." Check out the new Black Manta trailer, below:
