Injustice 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017, Warner Bros. has announced. There will be new characters, new environments, now with added destruction and interaction.

Injustice 2 promises to continue on the story of the Injustice Universe, add new characters like Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd, while also giving you the ability to personalise iconic DC characters with new gear throughout the game. Why does Superman need armor though? Why?

Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm had the following to say about Injustice 2:

“In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games. We’re always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customise and level-up their favourite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap.”

Expanding on what Boon had to say, President of Warner Bros. Interactive, David Haddad added:

“Expanding the DC Universe in games continues to be one of our top priorities, and Injustice 2 showcases amazing gameplay and an original story to bring the characters to life for players. NetherRealm Studios is offering fans an experience of customising and battling with DC’s iconic characters in an entirely new way.”

Players of the Injustice mobile game can unlock Injustice 2 versions of Superman and Aquaman via the in-game challenge mode. You can check out the trailer down below.
