Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price has announced that the company has closed the book on the Resistance franchise. Price told VG247, quite bluntly: "We won't be making any more Resistances."

Insomniac is taking their new-found time to work on other games, such as four-player action co-op Overstrike, which was announced for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year at E3.  Overstrike will use weapon design iconic to the company and employ some humor despite it's straight-up shooter nature.

Price also mentioned social games, so social games studio Insomniac Click will see some growth in the future. As for future Resistance titles, Nihilistic Software has already developed one -- Burning Skies -- which opens up the possibility of the company taking up the torch.
