Insomniac Games’ Song of The Deep Sold Over 120,000 Copies, Above Expectations

During GameStop’s financial conference call for the second quarter of fiscal year 2016, the retailer shared information on the performance of Song of The Deep by Insomniac Games.

According to the retailer, that acted as publisher for the game via its publishing arm GameTrust, the Song of the Deep enjoyed “strong success out of the gate,” outperforming expectations in its first six weeks on the shelves. The title sold over 120,000 copies, with digital sales amounting to 20% of the total.

We also learn that GameStop’s gross margin for Song of the Deep  is 63%.

The retailer also mentioned that GameTrust has a “strong lineup of games in development” including collaborations with Ready at Dawn, Frozenbyte, Tequila Works and “future unannounced partnerships.”

Song of the Deep has been released for PS4, Xbox One and PC on July 12th.
