Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is only a few days away, and for those that will be able to partake in the early access phase, the floodgates will open as soon as tomorrow.

But if you can't wait, we have a treat for you. At Gamescom in Cologne I had the chance to have a long chat with Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida about his vision for the present, and more importantly the future of the game. You can enjoy it directly from my point of view in the two videos at the bottom of the post.

Unfortunately I have to apologize for the abundant background noise. Square Enix was holding interviews in the Koch Media stand, and the good folks at Koch had the awesome idea of feeding the whole press and business population of the event with a rich bar service.

The result was predictably the presence of a hungry horde on site at all times and noise all over the place. Luckily Yoshida and his courteous translator are still clearly audible. I also have to apologize for my thick Italian accent. If you follow our weekly podcast you're already used to how I victimize the English language. If you aren't, I'm sorry.

Without further ado, let's let Yoshida-san himself do the talking.
