Gamers are about to experience a whole new level of online gaming entertainment on the iPhone very soon with the release of its new 4.0 operating system. Perhaps the most surprising and exciting feature to be added to the operating system in this fairly anticipated update is Apple’s new Game Center. Read more for the full report!Reporting further on the new Game Center Gizmodo has confirmed that the new online system will take control of online game play as a unified system much like Xbox Live. When the new OS goes live players will be able to earn achievements that show in an online profile, participate in leader boards, as well as send out invites to their friends and experience an overall improved online gaming experience. As with past operating system updates it is likely that this will release for the iPod Touch soon as well (as a paid update). Given the booming success of the iPad and its interest from major league game developers and publishers, it will most likely head over to the new large screen counterpart of the iPhone/iPod Touch as well.
