One of the things that add that extra bit of umph to a sports game is the soundtrack that accompanies you when you're sifting through menus or watching that post-game recap. We all know how important sound design is to games and this week's preview of the upcoming NFL Blitz takes a gander at some of the processes that went into the downloadable title.

From having commentators Tim Kitzrow and Brian Haley record their lines at the same time to throwing a bit of dubstep flavor into the mix, it looks like EA's putting in quite the effort to make sure the game sounds as good as it plays. It's pretty interesting to see the guys i separate booths yammering back and forth during their session. Check out the video after the jump.

To be honest, I've been consistently impressed by the level of quality that's gone into the sound design of handheld and downloadable games for some time now. Even though these titles may not have the same budgets as blockbuster franchises like Call of Duty or Madden, it's the little things that make or break the experience for me.
