During the livstream for the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament at EVO 2017, Capcom revealed a new Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite playable character.

The new entry in the cast is Jedah Dohma from the old and beloved Darkstalkers franchise

Jedah is a 6,000 years old dark messiah, and the youngest of the high nobles of Makai. On top of the Darkstalkers series, he appeared in Capcom Fighting Evolution and Cross Edge.

While he was killed by Morrigan in Darkstalkers 3, as a demon lord he can simply return after a while. Since Capcom seems to have put the Darkstalkers series on ice indefinitely, at least he's coming back in the upcoming crossover game.

The last time we saw a Darkstalkers release was in 2013 with Darkstalkers Resurrection, but that was a compilation of the second and third games. The last actual mainline release is Darkstalkers 3 for arcades, original PlayStation and Sega Saturn, which dates all the way back to 1997. Yes, it has been a long, long time without a new game.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is slated for release on September 19th, 2017 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
