Joe Mauer Named Cover Athlete for MLB 10 The Show

Ok, so I know we’re still in December and to some it mean’s a just a few more weeks until playoff football starts. However there are sports fans out there who are counting down the days until pitchers and catchers. I know it feels like it just ended, especially since the World Series dragged into what felt like Thanksgiving, but alas, baseball is only 10 weeks away (give or take). Ok, so the actually season is still a few months off but whatever that is not stopping Sony from choosing their cover athlete for MLB 10 The Show, and this is none other than the Twin’s All-Star catcher Joe Mauer.¬†Considering I’m from New York City (and a Met’s fan by the way, so I’m not being bias) I am a little surprised they didn’t go with one of the champion Yankees, but hey, Mauer is definitely no slouch by any means and a fine choice from any real baseball fan’s¬†perspective. Not much information about the upcoming title has been released although some highlights have been listed.

This year fans can also expect some great new features including: Home Run Derby, Catcher Mode (play as the field general just like Joe Mauer), new pitching and fielding practice/training modes in Road to The Show, user controlled pick-offs, Movie Maker feature (make your own highlight reel), daytime transitional lighting, 11 new stadiums, improved online experience, and much more.
