Kyrie Irving has been announced as the cover athlete for EA Sports' upcoming basketball game, NBA Live 14. The game will be the first installment in the Live series since 2009's NBA Live 10, and its first entry on next-generation hardware.

Irving's unique ball-handling skills were used as the basis for the game's all-new Bouncetek system, explained as such on the EA website (along with Irving's stats):

Irving, the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and 12 NBA Rookie of the Year, made his first All-Star Team this past season after averaging 22.5 points and 5.9 assists a game for the Cavs.

Irving's ball-handling abilities are a perfect fit for NBA LIVE 14's all-new, physics based bounceTeksystem, which brings a level of control and precision never before seen in a basketball video game.

NBA Live 14 is being developed by EA Tiburon and will be published by EA Sports for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on an unspecified date this year as a PS4/Xbox One launch title.
