Kickstarter Campaign Started for Oscar, Releases Thought-Provoking Trailer

Team Sharkeye has released a rather simple 2D trailer for their upcoming game entitled Oscar.

While the title and art-work is rather straight-forward, the trailer delivers an insightful message about the daily lives, thought-process and everyday obstacles of children.

Oscar stars a troubled girl who faces problems with bullying, parents and everyday stresses by escaping into a fantasy adventure, completely oblivious to the people in her life.

Everything from sound to gameplay to art style can change at a moment’s notice in order to convey the troubled child’s emotions and experiences authentically.

This invisible feeling expressed by so many children today, makes this game poignant yet unique. As explained on the game’s website,

[It explores] what happens when we can’t express what’s wrong or when no one listens. It becomes better to mask our problems, both to other people and ourselves.

Currently the project has raised $1,275 of its $40,000 goal with 28 more days to go on Kickstarter. If the project is successful, a PC and iOS release is planned for later this year.

Check out the trailer below.
