Indie developer JV5 Games has raised the curtain on their debut project; a heavily Super Smash Bros. Melee inspired online fighting game called Air Dash Online. Air Dash Online is being developed for the PC and it fuses elements of Super Smash Bros. Melee and other more traditional 2D fighters to create game-play that highlights fluid, agile character movement and streamlined controls. The game will include single player and online multi-player modes, and it will implement GGPO coding for its online modes.

Air Dash Online's development team includes some names well known and respected in the fighting game community, such as competitive Smash Bros. player Mike Lau, Project M developer Eric Sheppard and, Mike Zaimont, a famous Blazblue player and project lead on the acclaimed and popular fighting game Skullgirls.

Only five fighters have been revealed so far for Air Dash Online, each of which is inspired by a specific fighter from the Smash Bros. series. For example, the inspiration for the red fighter was Ganondorf, while the girl with the pigtails and yo-yos was inspired by Zero Suit Samus. A Kickstarter for Air Dash Online is planned to launch in the near future. Find pictures of each of the five fighters and the two revealed stages below, and learn more about each of them at the game's website.
