Kickstarter Update for Mighty No. 9 Talks Heroine Call’s Design; More Community Artwork Featured

on September 17, 2013 4:14 PM

The daily update for Mighty No. 9 discusses fan-favorite heroine Call and how the voting for her official design will work. We also get treated once again to some great artwork from the community.

The developers have decided to make all the initial designs of Call line art to remove factors like outfit appearance, hair color, etc. for the initial vote, so everyone can focus purely on which design they think is best for her.

There will be several different designs for her, prepared by the various game artists, and they’ll be ready by the September 27th update (which means that the most amount of backers will be able to vote). After that, the top three designs will be announced during the final hours livestream and from there those winners will be voted on in (then newly-opened) community forums at the end of October/early November.

The latest batch of fanart is fantastic as usual, and even includes a beautiful Becker patch. Check out the link here to see a very lovely animation sequence of Becker running, done by AriEX2 on NeoGAF.

comcept USA is also endorsing another Kickstarter campaign called¬†Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and one of the artists for Mighty No. 9 who’s also working on Shantae drew an adorable high-five picture:
