on August 2, 2012 10:21 AM

Nintendo has announced that it will be bringing AR Card packs for Kid Icarus: Uprising to several events starting on  August 3rd. The Series 2 AR Cards feature different characters, enemies, weapons, items, and various locations from the game.

The game will make use of the Nintendo 3DS camera to recognize the cards and when a corresponding Idol is unlocked then more information about the AR card is shown. The addition of location AR Cards allows for AR Battles to occur on different backgrounds based on locations from the game. Gamers will also be able to take photos when the AR Card characters appear and view them in the 3DS Camera application.

The amount available is limited so gamers will want to keep an eye out for when these are released and get them while they are hot. The will be available at the following events:

  • Retail Events: Held at the Nintendo World  store in New York. Everyone that attends Kid Icarus: Uprising events at the Nintendo World store will receive the Series 2 AR Card packs starting on Aug. 3. The events occur every Friday from 6pm until 8 pm. There will also be gameplay sessions at select retail stores that will allow for more opportunities to get the cards.
  • Consumer Events: Nintendo will be giving out packs at Penny Arcade Expo and New York Comic-Con.  By stopping by the Nintendo booth gamers will be able to get Series 2 AR Card packs.

Fans of Kid Icarus: Uprising looking to increase their AR collection will have much to look forward to in the coming days and weeks.
