Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition released for Windows 10 yesterday, Microsoft announced via Xbox Wire. Previously only available on Xbox One, this edition of the game includes everything the developers have released on console, including all 26 characters, all 20 stages, all costumes, and all tracks.

In addition, the Windows 10 port comes with behind-the-scenes videos, concept art, and a universe map for all the characters' backstories.

It was also revealed that Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition will be joining Xbox's Play Anywhere program, meaning that digital purchasers of the game, including those who already own it, will be able to play on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs for free.

As part of the program, player progress will be able to be tracked across platforms, allowing people to pick up where they left off and bring all their saves, DLC, and Achievements with them too.

Lastly, the game will also support cross-play between Xbox One and Windows 10, meaning that  players will be able to compete with each other regardless of which platform they use.

Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition will be available later today for $39.99 in the Windows 10 store. In their post, the developers went on to mention that more announcements from them will be coming "soon."
