Today, during the "Level Up! The Walt Disney Company’s Video Game Showcase" panel at D23 Expo in Anaheim, Square Enix revealed a new trailer of its upcoming JRPG Kingdom Hearts III.

The trailer showcases a brand new world from Toy Story, which will certainly please the fans. This follows previous new world reveals like Big Hero 6 and Tangled.

In the video, we get to see both cutscenes and gameplay, including the ability to pilot a toy mech, and it looks great. Incidentally, this will be a brand new bespoke Toy Story storyline, created exclusively for the game.

Fans have been waiting for new information on Kingdom Hearts III for a long time, and lately Square Enix seems to have opened the floodgates. The game was announced back at E3 2013, as the third numbered title of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, that is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.

The franchise is well known for mixing Final Fantasy characters and imagery with original characters and some from the universes created by Walt Disney, so there's a long history of reveals at D23 events during the past few years.

Kingdom Hearts III will be released in 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One, and you can check out the trailer below.

Over the past few months, we also saw a couple of screenshotsone more, and a fourth, alongside a few comments from Director Tetsuya Nomura himself.

While Kingdom Hearts III won't be release this year, Square Enix did launch Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue
