Following news last week that Hikaru Utada, known for her melodies in the Kingdom Hearts series, will be returning to work on the series' next (whole numbered) installment, Teruzane Utada, father and manager of the singer, has taken to Twitter yet again to clarify his announcement.

Utada-san mentions that while they are eager to work on Kingdom Hearts III, their decision is not set in stone and remains unofficial.

As disappointing as this may be, fans will be able to hear a remix of the iconic franchise music in the upcoming next entry in the franchise, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, set to release on January 24th exclusively for PlayStation 4. A trailer playing the song was released earlier this month alongside new reveals of the game's customization options and gameplay.
