The latest issue of Famitsu features an interview with Tetsuya Nomura, in which the director spills the beans on a number of upcoming games – Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy X HD, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts 3Ds. On the subject of the latter game, Nomura has teased a few interesting details, including a “shocking” surprise ending that is “unlike any other ending” in the Kingdom Hearts series to date. Oh my.

The game, slated for release in March on the Nintendo 3DS, will feature a wireless Dream Eater battle mode, a multiplayer game in which players can battle each other’s creatures Pokemon-style via local play. Players can train their Dream Eaters and the battling them will help upgrade them for use in main storyline.

As for the infamous Organization XIII and their trademark black coats, Nomura promises a big reveal divulging one of the group’s greatest secrets. Players can expect to see Zexion, Lexaeus, and the fiery Axel return for KH 3DS, this time in human form with memories of their Nobody days. Remember that Mysterious Figure at the end if Birth by Sleep? You know, the one who knew every attack and was impossible to kill? He’ll be making an appearance too.

Personally, I subscribe to the theory that the Mysterious Figure is Daisy Duck. But we’ll see come March.
