Yesterday a rumor on the PS4 Pro support for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue appeared, based on an alleged interview with Tetsuya Nomura on a leaked copy of Dengeki PlayStation. Today DualShockers acquired the actual magazine to verify its authenticity.

In the interview, Nomura-san is asked explicitly about PS4 Pro support for the game, and his answer confirms 4K resolution, while there is no mention on whether it's native or upscaled.

Since it will support 4K, the image quality will definitely be beautiful. Further details about how it'll support it will be announced later.

In the same interview, Nomura-san also talks about Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Due to the launch of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, the timing for the announcement of new information on Kingdom Hearts III is currently under consideration, and Nomura-san hopes fans will be patient.

He has also been thinking a lot on the planning for the 15th anniversary of the series. Starting with 2.8 in January and the World Tour concerts beginning in March, he feels that information on Kingdom Hearts will come at a consistent pace again next year.

Nomura-san also talked about the Final Fantasy VII Remake, mentioning that the battle system has been changed significantly from the original, and it's now much more action-oriented. That's something that cannot be effectively described without showing actual gameplay, so the team is working to bringing that aspect of the game up to the level of the final product in order to properly showcase it.

The team has heard voices from the fans that would like an ATB system, but the remake is strongly action-oriented. That said, fans should feel at ease, because the action battle system has been designed so that even veteran fans of the series can enjoy it. Just recently Nomura-san checked out early gameplay against the Guard Scorpion, and he was convinced about the sense of realism provided by the new system.

Last but not least, the team wants to plan something for the 15th anniversary coming next year, but further information will have to wait after the current period in which several games are being launched, including World of Final Fantasy.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will launch in Japan on January 12th, followed by a worldwide release on January 24th, exclusively for PS4. Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake don't currently have a release window at all.
