PS4 Exclusive Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 + II.5 ReMIX Won’t Feature Gameplay Changes

If you’re wondering whether Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 + II.5 ReMIX will include some new gameplay, or gameplay changes compared to HD I.5 ReMIX and HD II.5 ReMIX on PS3, wonder no more. It won’t, as clarified today by Game Director Tetsuya Nomura himself in an interview on Dengeki Online.

Nomura-san mentioned that the content of the games are exactly the same as the past HD remasters. He also explained that he doesn’t think he’ll draw a box art for the new compilation, because the covers of HD I.5, HD II.5 and HD 2.8 are all connected, and drawing a new one would remove that connection. Nomura-san  encouraged those puzzled by this to watch the three covers side by side, and pay attention to Sora’s position and the background.

He actually explained this in more detail in a previous interview, where he mentioned that the background transition from dusk to night, and from night to dawn, while Sora changes from sitting, to standing, to running. This is apparently part of a message about Kingdom Hearts III.

The game will release in Japan on March 9th, in North America on March 28th and in Europe on March 31st. You can also get a brief glimpse in a commercial released a few weeks ago.
