Arcade shooter fans have definitely heard of Ikaruga, a bullet hell legend reputed for its brutal difficulty. Hiroshi Iuchi - the creator of Ikaruga - developed another arcade shooter. Its called Kokuga, its for the Nintendo 3DS and it released in Japan last year. Rumors of a western release of the game have been swirling around for some time, but publisher G.Rev has today confirmed that the game will be released in North and South America, as well as Europe and Australia.

While there's no specific release date, Kokuga will launch internationally sometime this month or next month, so have your wallets at the ready. G.Rev today launched an English website for the game and it contains a gallery with images that can be viewed in 3D from your 3DS. Find the site here.
