Recently, Level-5 announced that Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaires’ Conspiracy will receive a worldwide release on July 20 for iOS and Android devices, with a 3DS version launching the same day in Japan.
However, at the time of the announcement, the developer failed to let western fans know when the 3DS version will make it’s overseas debut. Now, the official website has been updated to include a date for early Fall 2017.
Currently, there is no mention of why the smart device version is getting priority localization, but a release window is something fans can work with.
The developer details the game’s premise:
The story will focus less on dynamic problem-solving and more on solving multiple mystery cases observed in the everyday lives of Londoners, which will bring a faster tempo and more comical tone to the series. It will be more familiar — and funnier — than ever, while maintaining an adventurous quality. The creators of the puzzles and brain-teasers, the core element of the series, will also be new.
In case you missed it, this morning a trailer was launched showing some lovely cutscenes.
