Left 4 Dead 2 has been left relatively untouched since its release, but that's about to change this October. A developer blog recently stated that the zombie shoot-'em-up will soon have access to the Steam Workshop, a feature that allows players to upload, rate, and discuss mods for select games.

Mods for Left 4 Dead 2 have existed for quite some time now (my favorites would be the comedic sound replacement mods), but the addition of the Steam Workshop will truly open up the doors for players to expand their gaming experience and interact with members of the game's community. If your Left 4 Dead 2 experience has gathered dust over the past year, you may want to pick up the game again and give it another try next month.

The Steam Workshop will be available to players using the PC, Mac, and Linux.
