Anticipation and excitement around the next films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are at an all-time high, though you don't have to wait until May for the series' next installment with the upcoming release of LEGO Marvel's Avengers later this month, which will also be receiving free DLC based on the more recent and upcoming films in the mega franchise.

A new post on the PlayStation Blog revealed that free DLC for the title will be arriving with new content drawn from last summer's Ant-Man and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, with both DLC packs coming exclusively to the PS4 and PS3 versions of LEGO Marvel's Avengers.

The first pack will be the Captain America: Civil War DLC, which arrives on January 26th, 2016 and includes nine additional characters set to appear in the upcoming film: Captain America, Iron Man (Mark 46 armor), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Crossbones, and Agent 13. Each of the characters will be available to use in the main game, and also for the game's numerous levels and open-world locations.

The DLC pack based on Ant-Man will be arriving in Spring 2016, with the new content to include a new level based on the film and introduces 11 new characters, including Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Ant-Thony (Flying Ant), Cassie Lang, Darren Cross, Scott Lang, Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne, Luis, The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), and Yellowjacket.

LEGO Marvel's Avengers will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita, and PC on January 26th, 2016 - in the meantime, you can check out images from the upcoming Civil War and Ant-Man inspired DLC packs below:
