Today, developer Deck Nine Games and publisher Square Enix released over nine new minutes of Life is Strange: Before the Storm gameplay footage featuring protagonist Chloe and character David.

For those that don't know: Life is Strange: Before the Storm is in fact a prequel to the BAFTA-winning Life is Strange and not Life is Strange 2, which is in development by Life if Strange developer Dontnod Entertianment.

In it you play as Chloe Price, the deuteragonist in Life is Strange, and a 16-year-old rebel who forms an unlikely friendship with Rachel Amber, one of the most popular and beautiful girls in high school. When Rachel's life is turned upside down by a family secret, it takes both her and Chloe and their new formed alliance to get to the bottom of it, while also overcoming personal demons.

As for the new footage, it follows Chloe waking up from Firewalk's concert at the Mill and sees her home and family changing before her eyes. The new footage showcases largely a game that looks like more Life is Strange. However, it does have some interesting tidbits, such as a section that showcases that you can pick what shirt you want to wear from a variety of different options.

As mentioned above, the footage features Chloe (obviously) and David, who is security guard and Chloe's stepfather who she very much doesn't like.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is in development for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and is set to release via a three episode series on August 31st.

In case you missed it and noticed something different with Chloe's voice, that is because her voice actress, Ashley Burch from Life is Strange, has not reprised her role for the game due to an ongoing voice acting strike.
