Like Punching Cows for Leather? MineCon is Officially ON!

on August 15, 2011 8:00 PM

If you remember, a while back Notch was entertaining the thought of an entire convention dedicated to his monster success Minecraft. Well, it looks like that’s finally reality, as the website for MineCon 2011 officially went live last week. For the advance ticket price of $99, you can experience two days of nothing but fans in poor Creeper costumes, square-headed antics, and just a whole mess of geeky crap that’ll make you wonder, is this real life?

It takes place on November 18-19 in Las Vegas, at the Mandalay Bay specifically, which bodes very well for me, as that means I may actually have a chance to attend this. I admittedly haven’t played Minecraft in quite a while, but man, this sounds like a spectacle that no self-respecting nerd should miss. We’ll most definitely have more news on the panels and whatnot as it gets closer to con time.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
