While Microsoft has been preparing the upcoming multiplayer-centric Fable Legends for the Xbox One, Lionhead Studios has also been working diligently on the HD remaster of their Xbox classic, Fable Anniversary, for Xbox 360.
However, a new post on the Lionhead Studios Forums addressed to fans by Ted Timmins, the Lead Designer for Fable Anniversary, has announced that the studio will be delaying the game from its previously expected release (Holiday 2013) to February 2014 for added polish and extra development time. In the original forum post, Timmins explained:
“I know I speak for everyone at Lionhead when I say that we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to, and it gives us great pleasure to let you know that you can expect Fable Anniversary to be both on-shelves and online via the Xbox Games Store in February 2014.”
“It’s not easy making these decisions and I know that us asking you to wait a little longer whilst we get to play test the game every day is downright unfair, so over the next few weeks we’re going to be sharing with you more screenshots, more game footage and perhaps even some … top secret announcements!”
Timmins also announced that he and other members of the Lionhead Studios development team will be having their first “Lionhead Twitter Takeover” today, where fans can tweet questions to the team at their official Twitter account (@LionheadStudios – #AskTeamFable).
Fable Anniversary is now expected for release in February 2014 for Xbox 360.
