Mad Catz and Sega now BFF’s

Mad Catz are the grand champions in the accessory business. Why? Because they will make accessories for anything! Fresh off the heals of their Modern Warfare 2 announcement, Mad Catz has just announced that they have secured a license with Sega of America allowing them to produce goods with everyones favorite blue hedgehog, Sonic. With the recent announcement of Sonic’s return to 2D next year, I guess it’s a safe bet that Sega’s betting on a re-launch of sorts, and these accessories are probably just a piece of things to come. Mad Catz Enters into Multi-Year Agreement with Sega for North American Rights to Sonic the Hedgehog Videogame Accessories

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. (AMEX/TSX: MCZ), a leading third-party interactive entertainment accessory provider, announced today that it has secured a license from Sega® of America, Inc., a leading developer and publisher of videogames, to produce branded videogame accessories based on the Sonic the Hedgehog intellectual property. The agreement gives Mad Catz North American rights to a range of accessories for all current videogame platforms.
