Hanger 13 officially revealed that Mafia: Definitive Edition is one of the games participating at Gamescom's Opening Night Live showcase with a new narrative trailer.Officially revealed via a recent tweet by Mafia Trilogy, Mafia Remake will be a part of Jeoff Keighley's upcoming showcase on August 26th, presenting a new narrative trailer from the game to provide a deeper look into the story and recreated cut-scenes.

The remake of the original Mafia is definitely one of the most anticipated games of this year, especially for those who have already played the original game on PC or sixth-gen consoles. At the time, Mafia was one of a kind among the story-driven open-world game. At least when comparing with the review scores, the first entry of the Mafia series is the best iteration of the franchise by a large margin.

Both in the case of story-telling and gameplay, Mafia brought some new standards to the open-world games back in 2002. Despite all the challenges in game development during that era, Illusion Softworks gave birth to an astonishing experience that was never seen before.

Now, after nearly two decades, Hanger 13 is remaking the game while staying loyal to every small detail of the original game. The story is the same as the original game with motion-captured acting and some new cut-scenes to give you a much better understanding of the events going on in the game.

The gameplay mechanics will see some essential overhauls such as adding new activities to the world of the game, revamping the shooting system, and improving the camera positionings.

The city of Lost Heaven has completely recreated in Mafia: Definitive Edition, securing all the districts and details you remember from the original game while injecting some breathing elements to make it look more realistic than ever.

The development team even allows you to play in a difficulty level the same as the original version, which is undoubtedly a remarkable move from Hanger 13 to respect the old fans of the game.

Mafia: Definitive Edition will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 25th.
