Major Nelson Confirms Original Dark Souls is a Dark Souls III Preorder Bonus on Xbox One

on February 16, 2016 11:55 AM

Yesterday there was some mild speculation to the veracity of whether Dark Souls III would include backwards compatible Dark Souls as a preorder bonus. While the news came directly from Microsoft’s Australian site, the page was promptly removed. Earlier today, Larry Hryb — Major Nelson — confirmed this would apply world wide.

According to Major Nelson, the offer stands for a limited time for those that digitally preorder Dark Souls III via Xbox One. There is no word whether Dark Souls will be added to backwards compatibility absent the pre-order, but it is safe to assume. Players can preorder either the Standard or Deluxe edition of the game, the latter including the Season Pass.

Dark Souls III is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 23, 2016 in Japan and April 12, 2016 worldwide. Would the pre-order bonus push you to buy the game on Microsoft’s home console?
