Mario Kart 8 to Feature Smartphone and Tablet App

on May 7, 2014 1:47 PM

Japanese newspaper The Nikkei has revealed some interesting information: Nintendo is planning on releasing smartphone and tablet apps for uing coming kart-racer Mario Kart 8.

According to Nintendo, the app would allow for gamers to share their rankings in the game, as well as see how their friends rank. No other information has been given at this time, including whether the app will support the sharing of video clips for Mario Kart 8.

The news coincides with an earlier report from the the same newspaper. That report stated back in January how Nintendo planned on entering the smartphone market in its own way: by using “smartphones to expand its potential user base by spreading information about new game releases.”
