Mario Kart Beats Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy in Japanese SNES Classics Survey

The era of the Super NES was a glorious period in the youth of many of us, and also of many Japanese gamers, 500 of which were called to respond to a poll by the Japanese statistics firm Goo Rankings titled “The SNES Games You Were Addicted to in The Early Nineties.”

If you were expecting to see the usual Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy on top of the list, you may be surprised:

  2. Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride – 26.6%
  3. Super Puyo Puyo – 18.8%
  4. Super Mario World – 16.0%

The poll was conducted among an equal number of male and female respondents (250 each), and it definitely brings back memories.
