Mark of the Ninja, a new game developed by Klei Entertainment will be released for the Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Marketplace today. The mechanics are that of a stealth ninja game, rendered to resemble two-dimensional animation. The stealth combat is at the forefront of the game, with the gameplay being designed to adhere to three distinct directives: observation, manipulation, and experience.

By observing, players are encouraged to watch their enemies from the cover of darkness, utilizing it as a secondary tool to planning their deadly action that will neutralize their target. The act of manipulation can range from blowing out lights, to utilizing misdirection techniques and fatal traps. Finally, the game is constructed around recreating the “experience” of a ninja, giving the player the impression that their character is, “powerful but fragile, quick but deliberate.”

Mark of the Ninja will be available today on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1200 Microsoft Points.
