Mark Meer, the voice of Mass Effect‘s male Commander Shepard, has officially signed on to voice the protagonist of the Kickstarter-funded, The Long Dark, which began funding for it’s campaign a few days ago. “When the team at Hinterland first approached me about The Long Dark, I was immediately hooked. There aren’t many games that offer such an understated, yet powerful role and I knew I had to get involved,” said Meer in a press release.

In addition to Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and their various pieces of downloadable content, Meer has also appeared in the Baldur’s Gate and Dragon Age franchises.

As of this post, The Long Dark has received just over $62,000 of its $200,000 goal, with 25 days remaining.
