In the latest "Man at Arms" video, the master forgers decide to re-create the incredibly iconic (and awesome) fan blades wielded by Kitana from the Mortal Kombat franchise.

The base of the weapon's two main blades are made from a long piece of SAE 1075 steel. From there each blade must be carefully modified and forged to work well with the opening and closing of the fan. Next, the lesser blades on the inside are plasma cut.

The Hamon is added to the blades, then they are heat treated and tempered. The fans themselves are made of a beautiful silk and hand-stitched in the traditional Japanese fashion.
