Today, Housemarque announced via a tweet on their Twitter account that their next game Matterfall has indeed gone gold. To celebrate the matter, Housemarque decided to have some appropriately decorated cake. For those a bit more uninitiated with Matterfall, it is an upcoming twin-stick shooting platformer from the from the Helsinki-based developer. The game was formally revealed during the pre-show of Sony's E3 2017 press conference where we saw our first gameplay for the title to go along with the game's release date. Today's announcement of Matterfall going gold affirms that the game is completed and ready for launch. While the reveal trailer at E3 provided some quick glimpses of gameplay, we have since received some more extended looks at Matterfall via a new gameplay video that was released during E3 and another that was released last week showing off a variety of weapons and abilities that will be featured in the game.Matterfall serves as the second game that Housemarque has released this year coming off the heels of the June release of the twin-stick arcade shooter Nex Machina. However, Nex Machina was published by Housemarque and was also released on PC whereas Matterfall will instead be published by Sony. You can find the tweet where Housemarque made today's announcement at the bottom of the page. Matterfall releases next month on August 15 exclusively for the PS4.
