MechWarrior Online Developer Diary Explains the Four Pillars of the Game

MechWarrior Online was something that many MechWarrior and BattleTech fans could just dream of until a year or so ago, but now the game is almost here and Piranha Games is showing more and more of it as the beta progresses and the release date approaches.

Today the developer released the first developer diary video, with President Russ Bullock explaining the four pillars that serve as the foundation of the design of the game: Mech Warfare, Information Warfare, Role Warfare and Community Warfare.

Role Warfare is probably what got my interest piqued the most (besides the fact that it’s a MechWarrior game of course). As Bullock says, previous MechWarrior computer games were pretty much all about who had the bigger Mech, with a very linear progression.

Running circles around the heavier Mechs will definitely be a lot of fun if Piranha Games can pull that off. You can check out the video below.
