MechWarrior Online Developer Diary Showcases the Mechlab and Controls

on August 6, 2012 2:38 PM

The Early Access period of MechWarrior Online is just around the corner, and today Piranha Games published a new dev diary giving us a further glimpse on the game.

The video starts off with a good look on the Mechlab that will allow us to customize our BattleMechs, and a quick explanation of how heat management can be extremely important in deciding victory and defeat in MechWarrior Online. Shutting down and playing sitting duck isn’t exactly a fun experience.

The second part of the video goes in depth about the control system, explaining how the controls of a Mech are quite different from your usual first person shooter, with throttle-controlled speed and independent torso rotation.

Will MechWarrior Online mark the return of the Joystick with a vengeance? Mine has never been shelved anyway. You can check out the video below.
