Media Create: Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Debuts at No. 2 on This Week’s Japanese Sales Chart; ARMS Retains No. 1

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood debuts at No. 2 on Media Create's Japanese weekly sales chart, but it isn't enough to knock off the returning champ: ARMS.

Today, Media Create released its weekly sales chart of the Japanese video game market.

For the week between June 19th and June 25th, Nintendo’s new IP available exclusively on the Switch, ARMS, is once again at the top, after it debuted there last week. Meanwhile right behind it is Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, which debuts at No. 2. Following behind in the three and four spot are two other new debuts to the Japanese market, The Alliance Five on 3DS and Farpoint on PlayStation VR. Rounding out the top five is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

As for the hardware charts, they have once again been topped by the Switch. As you may know, Nintendo’s new hybrid console has been a chart-topper ever since it launched back in early March. Additionally, the console recently surpassed 1 million units in Japan.

All of this week’s new additions to the Top 20 include: Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood at No.2, The Alliance Five at No.3, Farpoint at No.4, God Wars at No.8 and No. 10 (it would be at No.6 if you combined its Vita and PS4 sales), Final Fantasy XIV: The Complete Edition at No. 11, and LocoRoco Remastered at No. 20.

Below, you can view the full software chart:
