Media Molecule’s New PS4 Game Will “Empower People to Make Amazing Sounds With a Fun Instrument”

Media Molecule is working on an unannounced PS4 game, which was teased at the presentation of Sony’s new console almost two years ago, and of which we really don’t know much.

A few days ago, the studio released a career opportunity ad for an audio programmer, and today they published a video related to the same position. Interestingly, it includes a few more details:

According to Technical Director Alex Evans, who appears in the video together with head of Audio Kenny Young, the game aims, among other things, to “Empower People to make Amazing Sounds with a  Fun Instrument,” which will be created by the chosen candidate.

The PS4 gives us all these opportunities to kind of get some of you into the console. How you do that, the devil is in the details. A good instrument maker will have innovative ways to get that performance out of someone, into something that sounds amazing.

Apparently, whoever will be selected for the job will shape the project quite radically, as Evans continues:

One of the things that media Molecule does here is, we don’t know the exact feature set of our games until we know who works here, because the shape of our next project depends on who applies to the job, and the balance of features depends on who you are.

I don’t know about you, but I’m extremely intrigued. Hopefully we’ll know more about this game soon.
