Developer Breakfast Studio has revealed its new and debut game: Medieval Shopkeeper Simulator, which is exactly what it sounds like. Additionally, the developer also revealed that it has taken the game to both Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter.

For those that don't know: Steam Greenlight is a system that enlists the community’s help in picking some of the new games to be released on Steam and also helps developers get some spotlight for their game.

Meanwhile, on Kickstarter Breakfast Studio is seeking a humble $1,119 USD to bring the project to life. According to the developer, the Kickstarter money will cover upgrading to Unity 5 costs and pay for a music composer.

Here's an overview of the game via Breakfast Studio:

Have you ever been as a Shopkeeper? I know! It's veeeery boring, but this it's not a simple shopkeeper simulator... And not just for joining 2D pixel art with a 3D lowpoly Style. You were abandoned once more. Without help from anyone, you will have to keep your little shop with few coins and resources. Can you learn to live by your own on this kingdom and turn this shop into a merchant empire? It won’t be easy. Ever since the new king came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The church, once the city’s most important hub of activity, now hides many things like never before. But the kingdom seems full of opportunity and light. With a little dedication and effort, you might just be the one to restore this kingdom to greatness!

Key Features:

Explore the kingdom: Each biome, will have their own people, shops, vegetation, events and more. Be sure to explore every corner because you will be rewarded in many different ways!

From a simple village of peasants to an immense city, places in MSS (Medieval Shopkeeper Simulator) will be filled with exciting moments as you explore the pacific and hostile environments.

Unique crafting system: The build system in this game works by placing Work-Kits on the floor and by staying near them. They will let you craft specific stuff depending on their type. Ex: With a cooking work-kit, you can make special recipes with food. Wizard work-kit will let you do magic potions and spells to later combine them with swords and make epic weapons!

The title gives you all you need to know as it's a medieval shopkeeper simulator. You play in First Person and do medieval shopkeeper things which include crafting, buying or selling stuff, building new shops around the kingdom, unlock god blessings, discovering mysteries on the church and of the King. Watch the alpha trailer above or right here on youtube to give you an idea.

God's Blessings: God can give Blessings! Why not? If you pray, donate to the church and help the most needy, God will behave well with you. There are a lot of different Blessings types, divided in categories, unlock them with faith points which you will earn by doing good actions. These blessings can give you for example some extra money after a sell, or even powerful haggling psychological powers.

The game is notably randomly generated, meaning every playthrough will be reliable fresh. It will also include many roguelike elements. You can read more details via the above linked Kickstarter.
