Mega Man 10 Coming to XBLA and PSN

I can clearly remember the times when I sat in front of my TV wearing nothing but my Fruit-of-the-Loom underwear, accompanied by a bag of Cheese Doodles and a cup of Koolaid, while I entrenched my genius to what I can clearly dub one of the most frustrating series in gaming: Mega Man. Sure, the game was fun, challenging, and cool, but it had its quirks which I’m pretty sure caused the total destruction of many Nintendo remotes. Point blank, some of the series seemed impossible to beat; and not even the Game Genie could salvage sanity when put up against the likes of the ridiculous feats that poor Mega Man had to go through.

If you were one of those people that enjoyed the series beyond belief, prepare yourself for yet another fix to the franchise via DLC. If you recall, Capcom recently announced that Mega Man 10 was making its way over to WiiWare. Well, apparently, WiiWare isn’t going to be the only console replacing slammed remotes. Joining in the frenzy is Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network – both of whom will also receive the Mega Man 10 DLC treatment. Surprising? Not one bit.

Mention of the game’s release was revealed in a recent issue of Nintendo Power which did not reveal that the game was in fact also coming to XBLA and PSN. Being that there are Mega Man fanatics out there who don’t own the Wii, you had a mob of bewildered folks that were frantically going coo-coo (and it wasn’t for no Cocos Puffs). With desperation and anxiety setting in, these uninformed plebeians most likely grabbed a pillow and sobbed onto it like a heartbroken teenage girl.

Well, no worries, people. Mega Man 10 is coming as DLC as well for XBLA and PSN. Personally, there are way too many reiterations of Capcom games being released and no originality. Hey Capcom, I love the Mega Man franchise, but I need something new – and Lost Planet 2 is only going to cut it for so long. And may God have mercy on your soul for that atrocious Bionic Commando – it deserved nothing short of toilet bowl.
