Independent developer domino99 has announced its new game is Beyond-Human, a Metroidvania with inspiration from titles such as Devil May Cry, Megaman, and Guacamelee. Now the game has begun its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

Beyond-Human is set in a post-apocalyptic science fiction world that has been devastated by an alien invasion. Players control Adam, a man who does not remember who he is or how the world came to be in this state.

Beyond-Human will feature 16-bit pixel art with additional, modern artistic effects. It includes environmental storytelling (since Adam is a silent protagonist), six unique locations, six boss battles, six unlockable weapons to destroy said bosses with, more than twelve mini-bosses, and more than twenty modifications to apply to Adam's weapons.

The current funding goal for Beyond-Human is about $29,000, of which the game has earned $6,105 as of writing this. The campaign will end on September 6.

Although Beyond-Human is still a work-in-progress, the developer has released a demo version, which can be downloaded from Itch.io or Gamejolt.

Beyond-Human does not have a release date at this time, but it is expected to release for PC and Mac. The game will also release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, which will have enabled cross-buy.
