Kenji Saito is the Director of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

This week’s Famitsu has let the director out of the bag: Bayonetta programmer Kenji Saito is heading the production of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba confirmed this with the Japanese gaming magazine as he  also asserted that Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya is not involved with Revengeance.

Series creator Hideo Kojima also once again confirmed the game’s demo will be playable at this year’s E3. Interestingly, when Kojima approached Platinum Games about developing Revengeance, then known as Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the folks at Platinum were skeptical and thought it was a joke. After serious talks, Kojima asked the studio to clean up gameplay as the story and characters were basically complete before Platinum’s involvement.
